PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Designing and sewing clothing since she was a child, Clare went on to complete a diploma in Fashion Design in 2006. She has since worked in many aspects of the Fashion Industry. From sewing on the factory floor, as a wholesale sales representative for several fashion brands and in retail sales. 10 years ago Clare fell in love with Burlesque and spent all of her spare time performing and making costume dreams come to life for herself and others. What felt like a casual hobby at the time evolved into a profession she's very passionate about today. Collaborating with fellow dancers and performers on their artistic vision is very exciting for Clare. She takes pride in her ability to exceed the expectations of her clients when she delivers well made, thought out costumes that elevate their professionalism and performances.

Most recently Clare started Sew Seductive, where she helps people with a desire to sew their own costumes, lingerie and other small bits of clothing by teaching them the necessary skills to be self sufficient, through online videos. That's not all, she offers in person private and group lessons. Hire her to guide you through your own creative dreams.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER?
CUSTOM DESIGN SERVICES:
Primarily Clare makes costumes for burlesque dancers and other performers. Lingerie, bathing suits and bold outfits are some of the types of "everyday garments" she likes to work on. Contact her about your project to discuss if it's the right fit.

PRIVATE SEWING/DESIGN LESSONS:
These lessons can cover the basics to get you started with sewing or be tailored to specific projects you would like to create. If you have a sewn product idea you'd like to develop or some casual guidance on your project she can help you with those.

FASHION BUSINESS CONSULTING:
Clare spent 6 years as a Wholesale Sales Representative for several fashion brands.
Having travelled extensively (more than your average sales rep) throughout Western Canada to build business with independent boutiques, she has a wealth of information about the ins and outs the business. She can provide you with insights to help your business succeed.

ONLINE LEARNING:
Visit sewseductive.net and take classes to learn how to make burlesque costumes, lingerie and itty bitty pieces of clothing with online tutorials.

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
The cost will depend on the scope of the project. Please note that a 50% deposit upfront for most projects is required.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO MAKE MY COSTUME?
Please understand that your costume can take several months to create, depending on the complexity and Clare's schedule. Please contact her at least a few months in advance of your deadline if possible. If you need a rush job, Clare can occasionally accommodate for an extra fee.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR HAVING A COSTUME MADE?
1. Set up a consultation where you go over specific needs, ideas and budget.
2. Clare provides you with feedback and quote
3. You provide a deposit (up to 50% of total cost)
4. Body measurements are taken - can be done via video chat
5. Clare shops for fabrics and works on your costume, providing updates/photos along the way of its creation.
6. Fittings and adjustments - depending on the costume, there may be one or more.
7. Costume is complete and remaining payment is due
8. The costume is handed off to you
9. You look amazing at your show!

WHAT IS CLARE'S SPECIALTY?
Clare really enjoys challenging projects that involve more than cut and sewing. Unique concepts and challenging engineering. She likes to like to figure out things that other designers may not want to. Her personal design aesthetic leans towards a high fashion look.
